7-3-10 Jessy Collins and Robert Oley Wedding Flowers

I was so happy to be asked to do the flowers for Jessy and Rob's wedding! Jessy went to high school with me and I teach with her mom now.

Jessy's wedding took place at St. Joe's in Sylvania and her reception was across the street in their reception hall. If you haven't been in yet, it's great! Brand new and gorgeous.

Jessy's bridesmaids were wearing canary yellow and she chose orange gerbera daisies for them to carry. For her maid of honor she chose orange gerberas and added light yellow stock to make it special. Jessy carried orange gerbera daisies with yellow stock and light orange germinis. Loved the colors all together!

For her reception she decided to keep it simple and floated orange gerberas in a dish garden rented from BBBJ with orange rose petals and votives around. I hope Jessy liked it is much as we did!

Can't wait to see pictures by Jim Carol soon!

7-3-10 Megan Schilling and Rob Johnson Wedding Flowers

Megan was such a beautiful bride and she chose such a perfect place for her wedding! Brandywine Country Club has an amazing, intimate wedding ceremony location. Check out the gorgeous arch and aisle decorations Megan chose and BBBJ designed. Her cascading bouquet of pink and white roses and white calla lilies looked great next to her bridesmaid's bouquet of pink oriental lilies, pink roses and shades of pink spray roses.

Can't wait to see more photos from her photographer, Mark Hill.

7-3-10 Betsy Radcliffe and Dan Smith Wedding Flower Pictures!

This was our wild flower wedding! Meghan and I had so much fun designing this one!

Betsy chose 4 different centerpiece designs. We had birch pots (now available for rental from BBBJ), the green vases on reclaimed wood stumps, lanterns and mason jars. I bet the guests had so much fun wandering around and checking everything out! For her table assignments, Betsy wrote the names on river rock that was placed in a moss box provided by BBBJ. Then guests picked one of three charities to place their stone in and the bride and groom will make donations in their name. What a great idea!

Hope you love everything! Mrs. Radcliffe got teary eyed when she walked into the church. YEAH!

Dog Wedding Flowers- 4th of July

Meghan just emailed me pictures from her Fourth of July and I was cracking up so I wanted to share. Apparently BBBJ designed flowers for a fourth wedding this weekend. The wedding of Chloe, Meghan's black lab and Dasher.

Meghan was invited to go to her cousin's cottage for the weekend and she was told she could only bring her dog if Chloe married Dasher. So the wedding took place on a pontoon boat, followed by a wedding cake of peanut butter on white bread and doggy biscuits as well as a fireworks display.

Pictured above is Delaney the "wedding coordinator," Ben the "videographer," and Will and Cameron were "security."

So if anyone would like flowers for their pet during their wedding, Beautiful Blooms by Jen can handle it : )

Thanks for sharing Meghan!

Vendor Advice

The wedding season has really surprised me this year. I have had brides who can’t contact/locate their photographers after their wedding and still haven’t received their pictures. There have been cakes lately that aren’t stacked straight on their tiers or frosting that has been smudged during transport and we’ve been asked by the cake company to fix it with flowers! Believe it or not, I had a bride who found out the week of her wedding that their reception hall had been double booked! Don’t let this happen to you!

Now I’m not saying that these brides didn’t, but please do some research before booking your vendors. I know there are many different companies out there for each wedding detail and it really will benefit you to talk to the vendors you have already booked. For example, if you already have a photographer picked out, ask them who they have been recently impressed with. Friends and family that have just gotten married can work too, but vendors do change over time and your opinion of a great vendor might be different than your friend’s. Many wedding vendors have a “vendor” link on their websites where they recommend others. We do this every weekend and as a professional, I would never recommend vendors I would not hire myself.

You research before making other large purchases in your life. Why not make sure to research for what is supposed to be the best day of your life?!
