My students have been amazing this year and I just wanted to show everyone what fabulous designers they have become!  This was the first time I have had the whole class design a funeral shape before.  They picked their own flowers, shape and designed everything themselves. What do you think?  I'll pass along your comments : )

For anyone who doesn't already know, I teach floral design and greenhouse for Toledo Public Schools. I have juniors and seniors from all of the different high schools every morning for the entire year.  Our school is called the Natural Science Technology Center and it is right next to Toledo Botanical Gardens.

5-21-11 Weekend Wedding Preview

Multiple centerpieces all connected in the middle of your table. Bonus- they can be your favor! Each couple gets to take one home!

I'm not sure what the plan was with this one.  It was really pretty but I never make centerpieces this height because you wouldn't be able to see the person across from you.

This is his interpretation on a muff. It won't keep your hands warm, but it's pretty!

Wouldn't this parasol be fun in pictures?

I loved the green on the left. It was a bouquet on a green wire armature with flowers glued in. I fun way for a bride on a budget to make a statement. The blue on the right is an orb with flowers and again, something fun for bridesmaids to carry.

Tonight Meghan and I went to Detroit for a "Wedding Extravaganza" show by Derek Woodruff, AIFD, CFD, CF.  It was a long drive in the rain but we are glad we went!  We always try to go to every show in order to stay up on the latest trends and techniques. As always, we were the only florists from Northwest Ohio.

5-13 and 5-14 Weekend Wedding Sneak Peak

Loved this bridal bouquet!

This bride didn't forget one single detail! Everything looked perfect! She hunted for months for all of the milk glass and it turned out great!

SOOoo this was quite the wedding weekend! We had one Friday, and 4 Saturday! We had two originally booked and then took on a Bumble bride, and then another one called and just wanted bouquets. It was quite the busy day but everything went fabulous! I have the best team!  I could not have done it without them!

We had two white wedding, white, red and purple wedding, white, and a pink and purple wedding.  We had so much fun creating these four different looks! Thank you to everyone who helped and to the brides and grooms who trusted us with their special day!

When Denise called to see if we could host the ladies group she is a part of I thought what a fabulous way to integrate my love of flowers with my education degree! I had a fabulous time and think they did too! Look at how great their arrangements turned out!  I hope to continue the relationship we began today to help them with all their future floral endeavors!
